The logic

As a result of the highly competitive and fast-moving dynamic of the financial market and competition, the Investec brand is constantly re-evaluated through bi-annual reviews. Global acquisitions and expansion motivated the need for a brand re-evaluation and control.

A carefully planned and structured brand architecture allowed for these acquired entities to evolve into the monolithically branded Investec brand, and allowed for any potential acquisitions, joint ventures or initiatives to follow the same process.

The magic

Starting with the evolution of the identity, Investec required their ‘out of the ordinary’ positioning to manifest in all communication collateral and touchpoints.

The resulting evolution was planned and executed consistently across all 13 countries.

The Investec brand

The monolithic brand approach also allowed for creating individuality within the different divisions within Investec. A specific visual language was created for each entity (i.e. Group, Private Bank, Property Group, Wealth & Investments) to be owned as a recognisable iconic graphic device. In the 11 years that Switch has worked as global brand custodians for Investec, Switch has been involved in all areas of our specialised services: brand & communication strategy; graphic design; TTL & advertising; digital, 3D interior architectural, signage and production.

In this period Investec has grown from a startup company to a leading global player in the Specialist Banking sector, with listings in Johannesburg and London.
